Canada day weekend

I'm looking forward to this long weekend mostly because I don't have to study for any exams, but also because it's almost Canada day! I love fireworks, and I love when I get to be with friends to watch them. Hopefully this year I get away from work early enough to actually catch the show. Until then, I'm still just playing with my camera, learning a few things about timers and aperture.

Walk in the Arboretum

Behind my school is an Arboretum where deer graze and the landscaping is really well done. On a mission with a friend, we walked around the river to take some photos. I was not dressed for a hike by any means, but I got some pictures of flowers and wildlife, and my friend got some pictures of me taking pictures.

Now that it's summer I can focus on something other than snowboarding. One thing I enjoy in the off season is fashion. I know there are a billion fashion blogs out there, but honestly they are what keep me sane during my school semester since I'm always overwhelmed with exams and homework.

Ms.Superpark

I always feel privileged to get invited to Ms. Superpark and this year when the dates and location changed from Seven Springs, PA in March to Squaw, CA in April I was stoked I would actually be able to make it. With the lack of snow this year it seemed to be pretty hard for any resort to put together a big enough course to be considered "super." Squaw made a fun set-up and although I was hit with a cold/fever making it hard to breathe up there, I enjoyed the rail set up rather than the jumps. I still had a good time and it looks like everyone else did as well.

8 hours in Vegas

Normally I'm not really the spontaneous type but upon Jordie's arrival to SLC airport she suggested we make the trip to Las Vegas for our friends birthday. 6 hours later we were there and ready to party! I need not say more....

Airbag camp - Mt Washington, Vancouver Island

I'd been invited to join the Canadian National team on Vancouver Island to hit a very large jump and an airbag. Now this didn't seem like a good idea at first seeing as how I'd have to fly from SLC to Vancouver and travel to the island by myself... and the travel part was terrible, but the airbag was totally worth it. All of the invited riders stayed at the VIMC (Vancouver Island Mountain Center) right on Mt. Washington where the only services are a general store and a sushi restaurant, we took full advantage of both. It was fun to ride with everybody and see them try shit.

Contest Pow in Tahoe

I was recently visiting Tahoe for the Billabong Flaunt It Finals at Sierra. The weekend started off sunny and warm so I didn't expect a snow day the next day. This led to postponing the contest until the following day which resulted in a pow day. After the pow day I got in Whistler last month, this will be my 2nd pow day of the season. Contest pow day... so fun!
